When the City of Parchment’s Mayor and City Manager decided to pursue the idea of building a permanent performance venue in Kindleberger Park, they turned to O’Boyle, Cowell, Blalock & Associates, Inc. (OCBA) to help make their vision a reality.

For many years the approximately forty acre Kindleberger Park had been host to the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Series, but a temporary stage had traditionally been set up for the annual performance. A permanent stage would provide the opportunity to showcase performing arts in the community throughout the summer season.

OCBA was integrally involved in the planning of the stage from the outset, and worked closely with the Kindleberger Stage Steering Committee to find an appropriate location in the park, and select an architect to design the venue.

Once Slocum Associates were commissioned for the stage design, they in turn retained OCBA to complete the site design.   OCBA also coordinated the development of the stage name and logo with graphic designer Marc Rizzolo.
