Cedar Creek Adventure Play
The Pierce Cedar Creek Institute is located on 570 acres and provides educational opportunities and miles of hiking trails through a variety of ecosystems.
Davis Street Skate Plaza
Davis Street Park is surrounded on all four sides by single family and rental housing and did not offer barrier free access or playground equipment meeting current safety standards. The City of Kalamazoo’s Parks and Recreation Department (Kzoo Parks) hired OCBA to update the existing park design.
Coit & Cambridge Park Improvements (Copy)
OCBA and the City of Grand Rapids Parks Department facilitated two listening sessions with stakeholder groups for each park, and as a result, the improvement plans are a direct reflection of resident’s wants and needs.
Bates Alley
Home to numerous restaurants and bars fronting on Michigan Avenue and adjacent to two large public parking lots, Bates Alley was an asphalt paved back alley used for deliveries and parking by business owners.
Prairie Gardens Senior Housing
O’Boyle, Cowell, Blalock & Associates, Inc. (OCBA) was invited to team up with Byce Consulting Engineers and Glas Associates Construction to design and construct a neighborhood of affordable apartments for those 55 years of age or older.
Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center
The Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center is located halfway between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo on a 200-acre site that was formerly the T. Ben Johnston Boy Scout Camp. It is a unique YMCA facility because it is the first entirely new YMCA camp to be built in the United States in 50 years.
Grand Ravines County Park
OCBA was selected by the Ottawa County Parks Department to complete the connector trail and waterfront fishing and kayak access facilities at Grand Ravines, a recently expanded park which first opened in 2000.
Randall Wickes Playground
OCBA was retained by the City of Saginaw Parks Department in 1997 to provide master planning through construction administration services for a custom playground in Central Park.
